NEWS > > ADEPT PROJECTION ON ACCRINGTON TOWN HALL
In early April 2013 we supplied the projectors for Adept Projects' projection piece in Accrington. We located three 15,000 lumen projectors in an abandoned beauty salon opposite the Town Hall. The content was created by artists Shanaz Gulzar and Steve Manthorp and the lumens did the rest.

Damart sponsors Lumen
Bingley-based online fashion thermal specialist Damart is a proud sponsor of Lumen.
Famous for its thermals, Damart is keeping the team warm on their future outdoor projection projects with a donation of thermals.
Damart’s Marketing Director, John Bottomley, said: “I’m sure our thermal donations will be greatly received by the Lumen team who do fantastic work across Yorkshire, often working outside in the damp and cold. Our thermals will keep them warm and cosy whatever the weather.”
More than 50 years ago, home-shopping fashion brand Damart developed and patented Thermolactyl, a man-made fibre used in its thermals, which is renowned for its ability to provide warmth without chunky layers.
A Thermolactyl piece of clothing works by trapping and then regulating the air between the skin and the cloth of the garment, almost in the same way as a cavity wall works. It also wicks away any moisture so that it keeps you snug and dry as you warm up and cool down.
For further information on Damart’s thermal collection please visit Damart's website or call 0871 423 0000.

This year's Light Night saw Lumen provide multi-projections all across Leeds' city-scape. Visual artist Shanaz Gulzar's piece 'The Others' involved projecting onto the floor of Millennium Square from a fourth storey vantage point. Credit to Shanaz Gulzar for the images and Leeds City Council.

Cool visuals with Opera North.
As part of Opera North's recent production of Antartica at Huddersfield Town Hall, Lumen provided a projection-mapped backdrop made from scenes of found, frozen footage. This image is taken from the performance, very chilling I'm sure you'll agree though the audience certainly warmed to it!
We have recently invested heavily in new projection hardware and software. New to our hire stock are 2 Sanyo XF47 15,000 lumen projectors, 2 Sanyo XP200 7,000 lumen projectors and 2 Sanyo XU106 4,500 lumen projectors. The Opera North projection was done using one XF47 (for the back wall) and one XP200 (for the big screen). And who says magicians never give away their tricks?!
