Lumen, bTV, the Community Media Association (CMA) and the Media Centre
are teaming up to create an exciting SMS web movie making opportunity
open to young people aged between 16 and 24. To enter simply SMS a
short description/synopsis of a short film or Flash animation and
you could win the opportunity to go on a training course, make your
film and see it web cast over the Internet.
The project will be launched at Evolution and culminate at the bTV
conference held at the National Centre for Popular Music in Sheffield
on November 30th and December 1st. Entries will be digitally presented
to delegates at bTV who will be able to cast votes on their favourite
entries throughout the conference. The 10 most popular briefs will
be decided by votes cast nationally and judged by everyone who submitted
entries.
The CMA are supplying training facilities, trainers and some advice
with fundraising. Training will consist of 2 days in Macromedia Flash
(or other computer based programmes) and 1 day of production support
for the winning entrants to the SMS competition. CMA would also use
