Fernando Corona, aka Murcof (The Leaf Label / Static Discos), is internationally renowned for his exploratory recordings, combining minimal electronic and classical influences.
Having relocated from his native Mexico to Barcelona, 2007 saw the release of the third Murcof album, Cosmos. Receiving huge critical acclaim, this latest work sees Corona delve further into the complementary properties of acoustic warmth and digital precision.
The live audio-visual performance for Evolution 2008 has been developed in collaboration with Italian media artists XX+XY (Sladzana Bogeska and Giuseppe Pradella). The intricate live visuals further expand on Corona's belief that technology is a tool of expression, and not an end in itself.
