Multimedia duo Michaela Grill (Vienna, Austria) and Giuseppe Ielasi (Milan, Italy) link improvised electronic music and abstract live visuals, interacting with no hierarchy between the visual artist on the one side, and the musician on the other.
The actions of each artist has an immediate impact on the other, the computer and the electronic interfaces functioning as active co-designers throughout the performance. Grill's video material is generated live, constantly reacting to a variety of triggers, with Ielasi's audio feed just one of the influences on the evolving, minimal, visual landscape.
Grill and Ielasi are each involved in an intriguing range of projects, resulting in impressive list of international collaborators, including Phill Niblock, Martin Siewart, and Oren Ambarchi (of Sunn O)))) to name but a few.
