Lumen's audio-visual resource supports the UK's arts
community with industry standard exhibition equipment for public,
gallery and live event installations.
The resource aims to meet the needs of artists and arts organisations
using media and moving image technology.
Equipment is made available at less than 50% of commercial hire
rates where possible, and is accessible to individuals and organisations, with or
without prior experience.
Consultancy and technical support is available to identify viable
production routes for all types of projects. Lumen have a range
of skills and production experience from large scale outdoor projection
to gallery and performing arts venues.
All users of the AV Resource should
credit Lumen for provision of facilities. Lumen must be acknowledged
in all publicity material with the inclusion of our logo, which
is available online at www.lumen.org.uk/logo
or can be provided on disc.
Rates
Concessionary rates are applicable to artists,
arts projects, community groups, festivals and not-for-profit organisations
providing that, where possible, Lumen is credited as supporting
the project.
Within this sector a distinction is made between 'funded' and 'unfunded'
arts projects. Be prepared to give full details at the time of booking:
Funded projects
Have recieved significant public funding or private sponsorship.
Unfunded projects
Have recieved little or no public funding or private sponsorship.
One week hire is charged at three times the daily rate. One months
hire is based on three times the weekly rate. (eg: if an item is
marked at £20 per day you would pay £60 for seven days
use and £180 for one month).
Further discounts are available for longer term hires of two weeks

Lumen are VAT registered, all listed prices are exclusive of VAT
at 17.5%.
Booking and payment
Equipment bookings can only be made
by official company order or letter/email of confirmation. Individual
hire customers must provide proof of identification in the form
of both a photo ID (ie passport, driving license) and proof of address
(recent utility bill).
Payment must be made by cash or cheque within 30 days of receiving
an invoice. Invoices are usually posted out within five days of
the hire.
Insurance
Equipment will not be hired without evidence of suitable insurance
cover.
Insurance is availble to hire customers at a charge of 10% of the
total hire fee and covers against loss or damage within Great Britain,
provided equipment has been handled with due care (i.e. if equipment
is stolen from an unattended car you will liable for replacing the
equipment.)
In case of theft or loss you must obtain a police report and inform
us immediately or you risk loss of cover.
Delivery/collection
Regional and national deliveries can be made via courier. Alternatively
customers can arrange to collect equipment from Lumen's office in
Leeds city centre.
All Hire equipment is checked within twenty-four hours of return
for any damaged or missing items including cables and packaging/cases.
Any missing items will be charged at full replacement cost.
All equipment is flight-cased.

A basic introduction to equipment operation and installation can
be provided free of charge on collection. Instruction manuals for
all equipment are included with the item.
Lumen can organise technicians to install and operate equipment
